International recognition distinguishes the innovative CSET-145, a new generation of compact substations designed to accelerate the energy transition
Meins has been awarded the prestigious The smarter E AWARD 2026 in the “Smart Integrated Energy” category, one of the most significant honors in the international energy sector. The award was presented during The Smarter E Europe 2026 in Munich, the world’s leading gathering for renewable energy, energy storage, and electrical infrastructure.
This recognition places Meins among the most innovative companies in the sector and reinforces the international standing the company has achieved after nearly three decades developing solutions for the transformation of the energy system.

Winning this award represents important recognition of the work carried out by Meins’s engineering, innovation, production, and development teams, as well as of the company’s commitment to creating solutions capable of transforming traditional electrical infrastructure.
The technology that convinced the international jury
The solution recognized by The smarter E AWARD 2026 was the CSET-145 (Compact Substation Energy Transformer), a modular and compact high-voltage substation designed to meet the needs of the new energy infrastructure.
Capable of operating up to 138 kV, the CSET represents a new generation of substations that combines industrialization, digitalization, and sustainability in a single solution.

One of its main differentiators is space optimization. Compared to conventional models, the technology developed by Meins reduces the footprint required for installation by between 80% and 90%, making it a particularly suitable solution for space-constrained environments such as urban centers, data centers, or industrial facilities.
Its modular and fully prefabricated design allows the infrastructure to arrive factory-tested and to be installed and commissioned in approximately 14 days, significantly reducing execution times and the risks associated with on-site work.
The solution also incorporates an integrated SCADA system, standard communication protocols, and IoT-based monitoring tools that enable real-time supervision of the installation’s operation and support predictive maintenance strategies.
Designed for applications in renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), green hydrogen, data centers, urban grids, and electric mobility infrastructure, the CSET addresses some of the main challenges currently facing the expansion of electrical grids.
Another of its distinctive features is the incorporation of GIS technology, also available in SF6-free versions, together with fully insulated connections that minimize maintenance needs and reduce operational interruptions to a minimum.
In addition, the solution has been developed under high cybersecurity standards, including the requirements established by the NIS2 directive and the IEC 62443 standard, thereby ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure in increasingly digitalized environments.
