We are currently looking for a PURCHASING DIRECTOR to join our team in Salamanca.
Your main RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
- Defining and executing the company’s purchasing strategy aligned with business objectives. Analyzing costs and proposing cost optimization and reduction initiatives.
- Managing the full purchasing cycle: identifying needs, requesting quotes, conducting comparative analysis, negotiating, awarding, and following up.
- Sourcing, evaluating, approving, and developing national and international suppliers.
- Negotiating commercial, technical, and contractual terms with suppliers.
- Ensuring the supply of materials and services within the required timeframes, costs, and quality standards.
- Coordinating with the Engineering and Production/Manufacturing departments to ensure supply needs are met.
- Monitoring purchasing KPIs (costs, lead times, supplier compliance, incidents).
- Periodically evaluating supplier performance.
- Managing purchasing-related incidents.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal purchasing processes.
- Leading and coordinating the Purchasing and Warehouse team, planning workloads, assigning tasks, overseeing performance, and fostering the professional development of team members.
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Technical background in electricity, electronics, industrial automation, engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of previous experience in technical purchasing, technical office, or an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of electrical components: protective devices, wiring, switchboards, transformers, etc.
- Experience with SAGE 200 is a plus.
- Intermediate-to-advanced English is a plus.
- Ability to lead teams.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and adaptability skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
