R&D Department

Young and multidisciplinary team composed of researchers, laboratory and workshop technicians, with an average age of less than thirty years old, working in a team and talent environment, capable of developing projects related to the most diverse fields, among which are: production and accumulation of energy from renewable sources, biotechnology, process control or energy efficiency.

Among its many strengths are: the ability to scale up projects from the laboratory to the integration of pilots in real industrial environments or the ability to approach projects from theoretical ideas and develop them to prototyping.

In the three years of life of the R+D+i Department we already have successfully developed projects, which are on the starting ramp for implementation in their corresponding market, and with collaborations with public and private entities of the order of: ICE, CIEMAT, UPV, USAL, IDEA, etc.

Development of projects, mainly related to Energy, Control and Biotechnology, that give rise to technological systems that can be made available to small or medium specialized industry, to provide solutions to global problems of transformation and energy independence, among others.

To become a Reference Center at European level, able to attract talent and capable of developing projects with the highest level of technical qualification, creating an environment of collaboration with the best Public and Private Technological Centers.

OUR PROJECTS

BIOETHANOL REFORMING

This innovative project focuses on the design of a hydrogen (H2) production plant through bioethanol reforming. Outstanding for its compactness and portability, this plant offers a versatile solution that can be adjusted to the specific needs of our customers. Moreover, its all-electric operation, including the heating stage, ensures efficient and environmentally friendly operation. With this project, we are setting a milestone in the industry by providing a sustainable and adaptable alternative for hydrogen (H2) production.

SAGH

This project consists of the design, development and assembly of an innovative system for the generation of industrial hot water on demand, responding to the imperative of decarbonization in today’s society. This equipment will be divided into two phases: a first phase to generate instantaneous industrial hot water and a second phase for thermal storage of surplus energy (from a solar farm). This approach guarantees that the heating or hot water of the facilities will work through the solar panels taking advantage of all the energy coming from the sun, with the only limit being the installed power, since the surplus energy from these panels will not be wasted at any time.

PR5

It is an instant hot water production system for heating, DHW or industrial processes, connected directly to a solar plant without the need to connect through an inverter, but is directly connected to the direct current generated by the solar panels.

This equipment allows remote monitoring, is scalable and easy to install and can also work with other heating systems. It has full integration with SCADA systems due to its ModBus communications system. The PR5 reduces fuel consumption, being a system with 0 CO2 emissions and provides a fixed cost in the price of thermal kWh during its lifetime (20 years).

ZERO GAP ELECTROLYZER

Meins R&D&I believes that hydrogen (H2) is one of the keys to combat climate change and move towards a sustainable energy model. That is why the R&D&I Department is developing an electrolyzer with zero gap alkaline technology, which takes advantage of alkaline electrolysis to split water into its basic components, thus generating clean hydrogen and pure oxygen as by-products. Its efficient and robust design ensures continuous and reliable hydrogen production, making it a promising option for driving the transition to a renewable energy-based economy.
